Shoshin Theatre Association organised the first edition of KaravanAct – Theatre Festival on the Road in 2015, aiming to reinvent and give a new life to an old theatrical tradition, which is the tradition of travelling theatres and strolling players. KaravanAct festival wishes to become a living organism, which engages into a dialogue with the audience, and thus does not wait to be approached: it makes in and of itself the first steps towards the public. At the same time, it is rolling out new challenges for the theatre and our (pre)conceptions related to it, through the diversity and unconventional nature of the performance spaces, their novelty, the diversity of genres, and the variety of themes and topics. The first edition of the festival was held on the route of Cluj-Napoca – Chidea – Miercurea Ciuc – Sfantu Gheorghe, from 21st to 30th August 2015. It brought in front of the audience 5 performances (played 16 times in total) that made us rediscover the wide range of possibilities and endless variety of theatre. One of the 5 performances was made in a co-production between Regula contra Regulam Teatro from Milano, and the Grotowski Institute from Wrocław.
